Devlog 0 - A Cat-Astrophy Begins

Hello!

Welcome to our game that we are developing for the course of Game Development Methodology over at Instituto Superior Técnico. This isn't our first rodeo as we all have had some experience playing developing games, but we are still very excited about this project and what it could become.

After some thought and discussion, we decided on the general theme of cooperation and space, so we are developing a co-op space game (duh)!

For now, it will feature two guys, planets, gravity (or the lack of it), a rope and the tragic death of a feline friend.

SIDE-NOTE

Our weekly devlogs will have some more information needed for the course where each member has to report what it did for the week.
As such, a normal devlog will be composed of a general summary of what was done and then followed by a per member report. Some exceptions may occur where a member might want to make a dedicated post about a subject it found interesting while developing the game.

Guilherme "Kob" Pereira
Hello! My name is Guilherme, also know as Kob in the inter-web. I always loved playing games, and now I'm learning on how to develop them. I also have a special interest in AI and its involving technologies. My favorite games are Outer Wilds and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky.

Miguel Belbute
Heya! My name is Miguel, better known as Belbute.  I'm currently finishing a master's degree in Computer Science in Instituto Superior Técnico, with special focus on Video Games and Artificial Intelligence. I love to implement and play around with movement and physics mechanics! You can find out more about my work here.

Carolina "Carol" Brás
Greetings! I'm Carolina, a masters' student enrolled at Instituto Superior Técnico. I'm pursuing my master's degree with a specialization in Games and Interaction. Among the various genres of games, RPGs hold a special place in my heart. Nevertheless, I also thoroughly enjoy engaging with adventure games and those involving decision-making.  

Alexandra "Alex" Pato
Hi! I'm Alex - nice to meet you!
I love to write and analyse games, and I'm now applying that to game development.  I'm very into both the psychological and storytelling aspects of games: some of my favorite games are Inside and Night in the Woods .

André Sezões
Hello! I'm André, writer and storytelling enthusiast. I graduated in Audiovisual and Multimedia and I'm currently doing a post-graduation in Storytelling. Since I can remember stories and writing have been a central aspect of my being and so its only logical to make it my purpose.
I especially love to explore deep human concepts using fantasy and fiction as a lense.

Carlota Portugal
Yellow! I graduated in Journalism and I am currently a master's student in New Media and Web Practices, having developed my final dissertation on "The appropriation of Artificial Intelligence for the creation of Art".  IA fascinates me, especially how it will affect art and other deeply human elements. ALSO I love to learn new things and that is why I am doing a post-graduation in Storytelling and experimenting with writing for video games.
