Devlog 5 - Plan for Purrfection

Paw-leased to see you again, everyone

Last week, as you know, we had our very first playtesting session -- and with playtesting, comes the real cat's meow:   feedback!

This week was spent focusing on the response we got on our prototypes, from both our teacher and the rest of our colleagues. We got plenty of it, whether it was obtained verbally, via writing, or by observing our dear playtesters.

We want our players to have the best experience possible, so we made sure to study the feedback from head to tail, taking note of what to change and fix, and what players truly love about our game's features -- to then plan on how to make them even more satisfying.

With this kind of rebasing comes a rewrite of our main documents: we're rewriting the Game Development Document and clawing out anything that does not correspond to our reoriented view on Cosmic Cat-Astrophy, adding new information to our Game Development and Tech documents, and re-evaluating our game plan moving forward.

Additionally, we discussed how to implement new relevant features for playtesting (such as instrumentation, so we'll know how players are feline during the game).

Lastly, we also kept on fixing bugs discovered during playtesting.

Hello! This week, I worked with Belbute to fully integrate the ragdolls within the multiplayer system, and have both be able to interact with the world and each other. I also coordinated with our team to determine what other challenges we might face on this last stretch, based on the prototypes and their feedback.

Hello everyone! Like Kob said, this week we worked together to fix some bugs which prevented the ragdolls from interacting as intended on the multiplayer system. It's a work in progress, but we'll power through as always! Additionally, I focused on instrumentation methods for more informative playtesting.

Hello! This week, I focused on fixing bugs on the UI, as well as thinking up cooperation-based puzzles, with greater exploration potential, to implement up to next week.  Plus, I sketched storyboard ideas for the improved Game Design Document.

Howdy!
This week, I planned out instrumentation for Cosmic Cat-Astrophy, along with new content for our Game Design Document.
I also worked on fixing the cable's bugs, by making it more elastic and thus less easily breakable; and on integrating the rope with the main game.
